Rainy Lake

This short hike is at mile marker 158 off of Washington Rt. 20. I especially like that it is handicapped accessible. Sometimes I wonder if I had been disabled by my stroke, would I have ever been able to experience the earth so intimately? The path to Rainy Lake is paved, but it winds carefully through a dense, moist forest like it is a natural part of the ground.

Check out the beautiful fall colors!

An easy walk leads us through what reminds me of a fairy tale setting.

And the pay off is huge! Rainy Lake lives up to its name.

Now, back to the road. We are making our way to the Washington coast.

I’m really missing my girl today. It’s Stephanie’s 29th birthday. She has come to Colorado for our girls weekend the past 2 years. I find myself in tears all day today.

We love you, dear Stephanie ❤️happy birthday and many happy returns of the day!
